Chopped Strand for Polyolefins Reinforcement

DS 2200-13P is a 13 µm-filament diameter, 4 mm long chopped glass fibre designed for production of Polyolefin compounds. DS 2200-13P shows outstanding compatibility with Polypropylene. This is the material of choice for very high glass content (up to 50 %wt) compound grades that require good fibre dispersion as well as mechanical properties. DS 2200-13P is also designed for parts weathering in prolonged contact with water, detergents and glycol. DS 2200-13P can also be used in applications complying with stringent requirements of food contact and drinkable water standards (EU) 10/2011, FDA and ACS. DS 2200-13P is supplied on a pelletized form and offers outstanding feeding-to-extruder behaviour as well as excellent fibre impregnation. DS 2200-13P’s sizing chemistry also requires reduced amount of coupling agents so that parts reach optimum mechanical performances.

PACKAGING DS 2200-13P can be packaged in 1,150 kg or 1,300 kg into polypropylene bag with bottom discharge (1 bag/pallet). Packaging in smaller sizes is available upon request.

STORAGE It is recommended to store chopped strand products indoor. The product should remain in its original packaging, on closed conditions. In order to prevent static electricity and humidity problems, the chopped strand material must be conditioned in the working place just prior to use. In case a packaging unit is only partly used, it should be immediately re-sealed. For safety reasons, it is recommended to store pallet in a single stack manner.
