Product characteristics: This oval-shaped avocado has a rough green skin that usually turns purple-black when ripe. When ripe, the flesh is easily scooped out of the skin.

Availability: Hass avocados are available year-round.

Taste: Hass avocados have a smooth, creamy texture and a slightly nutty flavour.

Nutritional profile: Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats and dietary fibre. They contain vitamin B6, B9, K, E, and C. They also contain minerals such as potassium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc and calcium.

Ripening & storage: You can check the ripeness in two different ways. You can gently squeeze the avocado to feel the pressure or check if the stalk detaches easily. To speed up ripening, you can store the avocado in a paper bag with a ripe banana or apple. The shelf life can be extended by storing the Hass avocado in a refrigerator.
