A single-harvest fragrant variety grown on rainfed lowland paddy, Phka Rumduol is soft, naturally sweet and unmistakably aromatic when cooked — the rice that made Cambodian jasmine a category of its own.

Phka Rumduol is planted once a year on rainfed land and cannot be rushed: the plant flowers with the shortening days at the end of the wet season, which is what concentrates its aroma.

We buy it under cooperative contract at a price agreed before planting, dry it close to the field, and mill it in Kampong Thom to keep the grain intact and the fragrance in the sack.
