About this product
Molecular formula: Ar content: ≥ 99.999
Melting point (℃): - 189.2 Relative density (water=1): 1.41 (- 186 ℃)
Boiling point (℃): - 185.7 Relative vapor density (air=1): 1.38
Saturated vapor pressure (kPa): 202.64 (- 179 ℃) Critical temperature (℃): - 122.3
Critical pressure (MPa): 4.86 Solubility: slightly soluble in water and organic solvent.
Product property: Argon is a rare gas widely used in industry. It is a colorless, tasteless, odorless and non-toxic inert gas with a molecular formula of Ar and a relative molecular weight of 40.
Health hazard: non-toxic under normal atmospheric pressure. At high concentration, the partial pressure of oxygen will be reduced and asphyxia will occur. When the concentration of argon in the air is higher than 33%, there is a risk of asphyxiation. Argon concentration is more than 50%, causing serious symptoms; More than 75% can die within a few minutes. When the concentration of argon in the air increases, respiratory acceleration, inattention and ataxia first appear. Then, fatigue, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, coma, convulsions, and even death. Liquid argon may cause skin frostbite and eye contact may cause inflammation.
Main applications: In the aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, atomic energy industry and machinery industry sectors, argon is often used as the welding protection gas for special metals, such as aluminum, magnesium, copper and their alloys and stainless steel, to prevent the welding parts from being oxidized or nitrided by air. High purity argon is used for welding, stainless steel manufacturing and smelting, as well as chemical vapor deposition, crystal growth, thermal oxidation, epitaxy, diffusion, polysilicon, tungsten, ion implantation, current carrying, sintering and other argon gases in semiconductor manufacturing process as the protective gas for single crystal and polysilicon production.
Hazard: Class 2.2 incombustible gas
