About this product
Product Description APAR’s GAP Type Thermal-Resistant Aluminium Alloy Conductor, Steel Reinforced (GTACSR & GZTACSR) is an advanced High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductor designed to significantly enhance transmission capacity while utilizing existing transmission infrastructure. The conductor consists of thermal-resistant Aluminium-Zirconium alloy wires (Type AT1 or AT3) stranded over a high-strength steel core with a specially designed gap between the steel core and the outer aluminium alloy layers. This gap is filled with high-temperature grease, enabling independent thermal expansion of the conductor layers and resulting in superior sag performance at everyday and elevated operating temperatures. GTACSR and GZTACSR conductors provide an ideal solution for transmission line uprating, valley crossing, renewable energy integration, and grid modernization projects where increased ampacity and controlled sag are critical. Key Advantages High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductor technology Continuous operating temperature capability up to 210°C Up to 2X higher current carrying capacity compared to equivalent ACSR conductors Superior sag performance at elevated temperatures Independent thermal expansion between core and outer layers Increased transmission capacity without constructing new lines Minimal or no tower reinforcement required for uprating projects Excellent mechanical and electrical performance Enhanced corrosion protection through high-temperature grease system Long service life and reliable operation under demanding conditions Enhanced self-damping properties against wind-induced vibrations Available Variants APAR offers: GTACSR – GAP Type Thermal Resistant Aluminium Alloy Conductor, Steel Reinforced GZTACSR – GAP Type Thermal Resistant Aluminium Alloy Conductor with Zinc-5% Aluminium-Mischmetal Alloy Coated Steel Core Round wire configurations Customized conductor sizes and configurations available upon request Core options include: Extra High Strength Galvanized Steel (EHS) Aluminium Clad Steel (AW) Zinc-5% Aluminium-Mischmetal Alloy Coated Steel Applications Transmission line uprating projects High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) transmission systems Renewable energy evacuation networks Utility grid modernization programs Congested transmission corridors Urban transmission infrastructure Long-span transmission crossings Capacity enhancement of existing power lines Utility and EPC transmission projects High-capacity power transmission networks Standards & Quality APAR’s GTACSR and GZTACSR conductors are manufactured in accordance with internationally recognized standards and utility specifications to ensure superior electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance. Construction & Material GTACSR and GZTACSR conductors consist of Thermal-Resistant Aluminium-Zirconium Alloy Wires (Type AT1 or AT3) concentrically stranded over a high-strength steel core. A specially engineered gap is maintained between the steel core and the first aluminium alloy layer. This gap is filled with high-temperature grease, allowing the aluminium strands and steel core to expand independently during operation. The conductor may utilize: Galvanized Steel Core Zinc-5% Aluminium-Mischmetal Alloy Coated Steel Core Aluminium Clad Steel Core This advanced construction minimizes thermal sag while maintaining excellent mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. APAR’s Design & Manufacturing Expertise With decades of expertise in advanced conductor technologies and transmission infrastructure solutions, APAR develops and manufactures world-class HTLS conductors for utilities, EPC contractors, and transmission operators worldwide. Our manufacturing capabilities ensure: Advanced thermal-resistant alloy processing Precision steel core manufacturing and coating technologies High-temperature grease filling and GAP technology integration Consistent electrical and mechanical performance Superior sag and thermal characteristics Rigorous testing and quality assurance Compliance with global utility standards APAR’s GTACSR and GZTACSR conductors help utilities increase transmission capacity, improve grid reliability, and maximize the utilization of existing transmission assets while supporting future energy demands.
