What Are Low-CO₂ Emission Steel Wire Ropes? The use of XCarb® drawn wire from recycled and renewable sources represents a significant step forward in reducing CO₂ emissions in the steel industry. Compared to the BF/BOF* production route, EAF production achieves a reduction of 2.28 tons of CO₂-eq per ton of cable (2,990 – 712), based on a published EPD (BF/BOF) and an unpublished LCA*** (XCarb® - EAF). This approach actively contributes to preserving our environment.
