Here at Camstar we're very pleased that we're now able to offer our customers Cassegrain Tea Tree Oil.

Native to Australia, the plant has long been known for it's healing properties. While the indigenous people had no way to extract the oil, they were still able to make use of the leaves by infusing them in water.

The name 'Tea Tree' was given to the plant on the occasion of Captain Cook's expedition to the country. He and his crew found that the leaves could be boiled up to produce a flavoursome tea.

Early Australian settlers made good use of the plant as a bush remedy, and in the 1920's a chemist called Arthur Penfold experimented with extracting the oil. It soon became known internationally as a powerful antiseptic.

In 1997 the family owned Cassegrain Tea Tree Oil Pty Ltd established a plantation on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, one of the few places in the world where the Tea Tree plant grows naturally. The existing plants were nurtured to produce a plantation capable of producing premium grade oil.
