ASFALDAN AL-80 TIPO 30 P ELAST. is a bituminous waterproofing sheet with metallic self-protection. Composed of an SBS modified bitumen mastic, uses on the upper side of the sheet embossed aluminium foil (80 micron) in aluminium colour as protective material. The anti-adhesive material used on the lower side is polyethylene film.

Auxiliary sheet for joints with parapets and emergent elements, gutters, mangers, finishes, etc.

Increases performance on the site.

Good durability.

The metallic finish gives the membranes UV resistance, which is necessary for visible waterproofing layers. Therefore, this membrane can be used as an auxiliary sheet for visible finishes, gutters, parapets, etc.

The membrane, composed of an elastomer-modified bitumen mastic (SBS), provides great performance at high and low temperatures, plasticity and resistance to ageing, which ensures greater durability and greater safety of the waterproofing membrane.

Allows for adaptation to any type of geometry.

Can also be used as a top coat on bilayer membranes with bonded heavy protection (MA-2 and MA-3 membranes according to the UNE 104-402/96 standard).

Surface preparation: Concrete must be dry, clean and free from sharp projections such as nail heads and concrete nibs. Remove all surface imperfections, protrusions, cavities, structurally unsound and friable concrete and repair with a suitable repair mortar. Remove contaminants such as grease, oil, dust, dirt, loose stones, debris and wax from exposed concrete. Concrete must be properly dried (minimum 7 days for normal structural concrete and 14 days for lightweight structural concrete). Substrate should be prepared using a primer either IMPRIDAN 100, CURIDAN, MAXDAN or MAXDAN CAUCHO, at the recommended rate (approximately 0,200-0,300 kg/m2) prior to installation of SELF- ADHESIVE PE. Primer should be dry before the application of the membrane. Drying time depends of the temperature and humidity.

Alignment: Start the installation of all membrane plies from the low point or drains, so the flow of water is over or parallel to the plies, but never against the laps. All overlaps at the membrane seams shall be installed so as to have “up” slope laps over “down” slope laps. Begin membrane application by unrolling the roll of SELF- ADHESIVE PE membrane and aligning the side laps. Re-roll the roll halfway and hold on the unrolled portion to prevent shifting.

Membrane installation: Unroll only the required length of SELF- ADHESIVE PE, and cut the piece to the desired shape and size. Place the pieces of SELF- ADHESIVE PE on the area to be covered, and check whether they match with the profile of the marked substrate. Peel off the release film from the self-adhesive side and place the membrane so as to ensure a minimum overlap of 80 mm. Start unrolling the membrane and press it firmly against the surface, from the middle to the edges in order to drive out entrapped air with a wooden press. The surface to be overlapped should be dust free and the membrane must be firmly pressed down to ensure a watertight bond.

Protection system: In order to prevent damages, SELF- ADHESIVE PE must be protected by a protection layer as soon as possible.

In case of new construction and renovation, possible chemical incompatibilities with APP plastomer-modified bitumen sheets shall be taken into account.

If it is necessary to adhere to metallic or slightly porous elements, a bituminous primer (IMPRIDAN 100) shall be applied to the entire surface to be welded beforehand.

In the case of multi-layer waterproofing membranes with metallic self-protection, the minimum slope of the substrate shall be 10%.

This product may form part of a waterproofing system, so all the documents referred to in the Danosa Solutions Manual must be taken into account, as well as all the regulations and legislation that must be complied with in this respect.

Self-protected sheets finished in light colours perform better thermally.

Danosa waterproofing fims should be installed preferably within seven months from the date of manufacture.

There is no chemical incompatibility between the Danosa range of SBS elastomeric bitumen and APP plastomeric bitumen membranes.

Polyurethane foam shall not be sprayed on top of the waterproofing, as it is an outdoor waterproofing.

Not suitable as cap sheet on green roofs; use GARDEN variant.

Do not use on roofs that are subsequently to be covered with heavy protection, be it paving, gravel or topsoil (in case of green roofs), or any other type of protection.

Do not use for waterproofing buried walls.

Do not use in single-layer system.

Do not use over thermal insulation.

Special attention must be paid to the execution of the singular points, such as parapets (meetings with vertical and emergent elements), drains, expansion joints, etc.

Before moving the pallet, check the condition of the shrink-wrap and reinforce if necessary.

The product must be stored in a dry place protected from rain, sun, heat and low temperatures.

The product must be stored in an upright position.

This product is not toxic or flammable.

Waterproofing work should not be carried out when the ambient temperature is lower than +5ºC for hot air welding.

Pallets shall not be stacked on top of each other.
