The steel-core construction helps keep hand tools securely attached during maintenance, installation and work-at-height operations, reducing the risk of accidental tool drops and helping protect workers, equipment and property below. Ideal for construction, industrial maintenance, electrical installation, roofing, equipment servicing and general tool-retention applications. The Tool Tether combines a 1.5 mm galvanized steel wire rope core with an overall PVC-coated diameter of approximately 3.0 mm, providing both internal steel reinforcement and external surface protection. The PVC coating isolates the steel cable from direct contact with tools and surrounding surfaces while helping protect the wire rope against everyday moisture, dirt and abrasion. Galvanized steel construction also provides better corrosion resistance than untreated carbon steel, making the tether suitable for demanding workshop, maintenance and outdoor working environments. The coiled structure keeps the Tool Tether compact when relaxed and extends naturally as the operator reaches for the tool. This design minimizes unnecessary loose cable around the working area, helping reduce tangling, snagging and interference with equipment while maintaining sufficient freedom of movement. Compared with conventional straight lanyards, the compact coil design is especially practical in confined workspaces and applications where tools are frequently picked up and returned. Multiple extension lengths allow buyers to match the Tool Tether to different tools, operator movements and working environments. Available options include approximately: 1.2 m extension - ≈ 8 cm coiled length 2.0 m extension - ≈ 13 cm coiled length 3.0 m extension - ≈ 18 cm coiled length The compact coiled form provides extended working reach without requiring the same storage space as a conventional straight cable, making it convenient for tool bags, maintenance kits and retail packaging. Different markets and tools require different working loads and safety specifications. Instead of applying one unverified load rating to every application, we can configure and test the Tool Tether according to specific customer requirements. With professional in-house testing equipment, customized testing can be arranged for order projects according to the required tool weight, product configuration and target application. Length, cable diameter, connector configuration, color, logo and packaging can also be customized for distributors, tool brands and industrial safety suppliers. Load ratings are specified based on the confirmed product configuration and applicable test requirements.
