In an electric vehicle, a Traction Motor is married, in a modular way, to a decelerator and works as if it were an engine for a regular vehicle running on fossil fuel. In a hybrid vehicle, a Traction Motor is located between the engine and the transmission (TMED, Transmission mounted electric drive) to drive the vehicle in high torque ranges.
