The LTM 1160-5.2 delivers efficiency without compromising on performance. Its single-engine concept powers the crane’s superstructure from the undercarriage using a mechanical shaft. ECOmode and ECODrive technologies also help to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10%. However, no compromises are accepted when it comes to the lifting capacities and boom of the 5-axle crane – a range of boom configurations ensure it is very flexible in action, whilst the VarioBallast® system enables the crane to manage high lifting capacities with the large ballast radius and constricted sites with the small radius – no problem!

What's inside Maximum hook height - 99 m: Long boom systems can be assembled using the 62 m telescopic boom, telescopic boom extension and various jibs. Variable support: The standard VarioBase® support technology increases lifting capacities even further. Economical and flexible – VarioBallast®: Mechanically slewing ballasting cylinders enable the ballast radius to be changed quickly between two different settings. Single-engine concept: The superstructure is powered by the undercarriage engine. This reduces maintenance costs and increases lifting capacity. Efficient: ECOmode and ECOdrive reduce fuel consumption by up to 10%.

Technology Single-engine concept: Take one engine out to increase lifting capacity. Or more accurately – the superstructure is powered by the undercarriage engine. Gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the substructure via two mitre gears to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure. That enables us to remove one engine – and we use this to increase the crane’s lifting capacity. Hillstart-Aid: Hillstart-Aid makes starting on gradients easier. Move off safely and easily without rolling backwards. VarioBase®: VarioBase makes the crane’s support system variable. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length. This enhances safety – particularly in constricted spaces. And what's more, the crane’s lifting capacities are significantly increased, particularly over the outriggers and depending on the configuration. VarioBallast® (mechanical): Mechanically slewing ballasting cylinders enable the ballast radius to be changed quickly to two different settings. The smaller radius is used in constricted conditions whilst the larger one is used if a higher lifting capacity is required. This significantly increases the crane’s flexibility. Driver assistance systems: Driver assistance systems for extra safety on the road. All new mobile crane models are equipped with driver assistance systems that support the crane driver with additional „eyes“. They scan the environment and warn the crane driver to prevent accidents.
