Commonly used in desliming, the Cavex® CVXU polyurethane hydrocyclone provides strength and corrosion resistance in light-duty and low-temperature applications. Overview Similar to our rubber and ceramic-lined hydrocyclones, the Cavex® polyurethane hydrocyclone features an innovative laminar spiral inlet geometry design. These smaller hydrocyclones (40 to 250mm) are designed to be: • Lightweight • Corrosion-resistant • Used in clusters (where a large number of hydrocyclones is required) and • Used in temporary applications (where equipment won't be in operation for long periods of time) • Cast in solid unlined polyurethane, these hydrocyclones perform best in light-duty, low-temperature and low-wear applications (e.g. desliming, dewatering and tailings dam wall construction). Similar to Cavex® CVXA dense medium cyclones, our polyurethane hydrocyclones do not contain a housing. Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between the Cavex® CVXU and the original Cavex® CVX hydrocyclone? The Cavex® CVXU solid polyurethane hydrocyclone does not use a traditional housing like the standard Cavex® hydrocyclone. Instead, its liners are constructed to support themselves. What is the thickness of the Cavex® CVXU liner? The liner thickness can vary depending on the size of the hydrocyclone. You can also choose different spigot and vortex finders to suit your desired application. Each hydrocyclone size comes with up to five spigot sizes, ranging from normal to extra-high capacity to accommodate low-yield ores. Spigots can also be manufactured in different materials to prolong life and efficiency. 20- or 40-degree cone angles are available to enable greater flexibility and adjustability in various conditions. Depending on your needs, we can also design hydrocyclone clusters to retrofit into existing installations to maximise production and address operational or maintenance issues.
