Our range of Cavex® cyclone canisters are frequently used to cluster a group of small hydrocyclones together to increase overall throughput with a significantly reduced footprint. Overview Cavex® cyclone canisters can be used to form hydrocyclone clusters, particularly with smaller cyclones that have a fine cut point (8-12 microns) and a high underflow density (40-50% percent by weight solids). Cyclone canisters enable hydrocyclones to be efficiently grouped together to allow high feed volumes through small diameter hydrocyclones and maximise the number of fine particles separated within the feed material. This removal of fines can reduce the size of the water treatment plant or the water clean up required on site. Canisters are typically recommended for smaller urethane hydrocyclones (eg.40CVX and 100CVX) and certain installations (e.g., iron ore or power). Frequently Asked Questions What is a hydrocyclone cluster? A hydrocyclone cluster is a piece of equipment that allows for multiple hydrocyclones to operate alongside one another in a single unit. They are typically engineered to order and customised to fit into the space available. The Isogate® valves of each hydrocyclone can be adjusted to ensure that the correct volume of feed slurry is being processed. What is a cyclone canister? A cyclone canister is a set of small solid urethane cyclones. The cyclones are assembled into a unique chamber where the slurry is fed straight to the cyclone inlet without without any cyclone feed spools or isolation valves. What type of application is a cyclone canister best suited to? Canisters are most frequently used in desliming applications and for separation duties that require a fine cut point (D50 around 3 - 15 µm) and a high throughput.
