Linagard® NBR Nitrile Rubber Blend Linagard® NBR rubber is made from a nitrile rubber blend and has been specifically formulated to provide good resistance to abrasion and wear in the presence of oils and chemicals. This type of rubber performs exceptionally well in high temperature (even up to 110°C / 230°F) with suitable adhesives, or where mechanical fixing is employed. It is frequently used as a lining in mining, aggregate and general industries including high hydrocarbon applications and coarse flotation, sewerage and wastewater, fertiliser works and within sand processing circuits where oil-based reagents are used. It can also be used for pump linings and impellers within the chemical industry or as a rubber coating for transmission belts. Linagard® BB Bromobutyl Rubber Blend Our experience supplying and installing different types of wear-resistant rubber sheet for a diverse range of chemical applications has played a pivotal role in the development of Linagard® BB rubber. Linagard® BB rubber is a bromobutyl-based rubber compound that has been specifically formulated to provide a cost-effective lining solution for aggressive chemical applications involving acids, alkalis and high temperatures. This bromobutyl rubber provides exceptional chemical and corrosion protection with unmatched mechanical properties. It is therefore commonly used as rubber lining for acid tanks or in applications where protection against high temperature, chemicals, ozone or UV is required. Linagard® OSR Polychloroprene Rubber Our Linagard® OSR polychloroprene rubber compound has been specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands and needs of the oil sands industry and other areas of high hydrocarbon use. It differs from other polychloroprene compounds in that it provides resistance to oil, chemicals and weather in addition to unmatched abrasion resistance. Linagard® OSR rubber is available in both a cured or uncured form. Linagard® rubber compounds are designed to line, guard and protect equipment from the ravages of chemical and erosive attack. What types of Linagard® rubber are available? We manufacture five types of Linagard® rubber. These include an oil-resistant rubber with great wear properties (Linagard® OSR), a bromobutyl rubber blend for strong acids and alkalis (Linagard® BB), a nitrile rubber blend for strong oils and aromatics (Linagard® NBR) and an FDA-approved rubber that can be used for food preparation and processing (Linagard® FG). What is the maximum temperature Linagard® rubber can handle? The temperature range and rating varies depending on the compound. For example, Linagard® NBR and OSR are often used for applications with up to 100°C/212F, whereas Linagard® BB rubber can be used in applications reaching up to 120 °C/248F. Linagard® rubbers are available in a variety of colours. For example, Linagard® BB and OSR rubber blends are black, Linagard® NBR rubber is orange and Linagard® FG rubber is white. What form/shape does Linagard® rubber come in? All Linagard® rubber materials can be made into a wear-resistant rubber sheet. How is Linagard® rubber made? Unlike Linatex® premium rubber, Linagard® rubber can only be made using the traditional milling process, however we use the highest-quality compounds and ingredients to deliver best-in-field elastomers. What are the most common applications of Linagard® rubber? Our range of Linagard® rubber compounds is used across a wide variety of industries and applications. As examples, • Linagard® BB bromobutyl rubber blend can be used to line acid tanks or tanks with high pH levels to stop the acid from affecting the steel tank • Linagard® OSR rubber is used in the oil sands industry where oil resistance and high wear are present, • Linagard® NBR nitrile rubber blend is used in the mining industry where there are high levels of Hydrocarbons and wear present, that would affect natural rubber compounds How do we apply and secure Linagard® rubber? We typically apply Linagard® wear-resistant rubber sheet using our proprietary adhesive system to ensure that the rubber lasts to its fullest. If supplied as a moulded component, we usually bolt or form-fit all Linagard® rubber parts. What size is Linagard® rubber available in? Usually Linagard® rubber products are made in sheets of 1.24m wide x 9.25m long and in thickness increments around 1 to 50mm thick. They can also be supplied as moulded components. What is the hardness of Linagard® rubber? Most of the compounds range in hardness from 40 to 60 Duro. Exceptional Abrasion Resistance The proprietary premium compounds of Linagard® OSR rubber make it the best abrasion-resistant rubber sheet in the market. High Resistance to Oils and Chemicals The high resistance properties of Linagard® OSR rubber against oils and chemicals have been proven in the oil sands industry. Excellent Resistance to UV and Ozone FDA approved Linagard® FG rubber can be used on food preparation and packaging machinery, however is not recommended for direct contact with food. Non-marking properties Unlike other types of rubber, Linagard® FG doesn't leave scuff marks or scratches on packaging material.
