Renowned for their flexibility and ease of maintenance, Multiflo® EC polyethylene mono-hull floating pontoon barges can mount 4 to 10 floats depending on the required buoyant capacity and desired dewatering application. Overview Multiflo® EC mono-hull polyethylene pontoon barges are a floating, steel-frame barge system that are custom designed and optimised for ease of shipping and maintenance. Each floating pontoon unit is designed to support one pump assembly, but can be tethered together in a multi-unit pontoon barge system to provide various pumping capacities and/or redundancies. The custom pontoon barge design allows each float to be independently ballasted before delivery, based on equipment loading. Each float is made from UV-resistant, corrosion-free, low-density polyethylene (PE) and is roto-moulded for seamless construction. When combined with our range of Multiflo® dewatering pumps, these pump barges provide an efficient and reliable dewatering solution across a number of different industries. Particularly within open pit mining, surface extraction and tailings water reclaim applications. The system also allows for flexibility, where each barge unit is designed to support one pump assembly, and can be tethered together in a multi-unit barge system to provide various pumping capacities and/or redundancies. Enhanced Safety Our floating pontoon barge designs comply with regional safety design standards to suit the location of the mine. We also provide a safety ring on board, hand rail heights configured to local height standards, equipment guards and added marine stability for added safety on the pontoon barge. Designed for the Toughest Environments Multiflo® pump barges are designed for the toughest of environments. For one of our South Africa customers, our team needed to account for more than just water. The particular installation required handrails and other structures to be engineered to prevent crocodiles from gaining access to the deck space - a very unique design requirement. Marine Naval Certification Key environmental factors such as wind, snow and seismic loading can affect the buoyancy and stability of pump barges. Our custom barge design allows each pontoon to be independently ballasted before delivery, based on equipment loading. Multiflo® pontoon barge systems are fully marine naval certified under all weather conditions and are marine architect certified. Optional Walkway System Access to Multiflo® pontoon barges is made possible via a floated polyethylene and steel-frame walkway system. The optional walkway is available in 20ft sections to accommodate for any required distance, and comes with a variety of options including lighting and cable trays for managing cables safely.
