The Trio® TV Series vertical shaft impact crusher is a high-performance comminution machine, best suited for fine crushing applications and the creation of high-quality end products including sand and industrial minerals. Overview Engineered to produce high-quality, well-shaped particles and fine aggregates (e.g. sand), the Trio® vertical shaft impact crusher (or "vertical shaft impactor"), uses innovative technology to deliver outstanding performance in tertiary and quaternary crushing applications. This specialised, high performance vertical shaft impact crusher is designed to deliver flexibility through its modular crusher housing and replaceable rotor types. Lubrication of the bearing cartridge via a dedicated lubrication unit facilitates a rotor speed that is higher than traditionally offered by grease lubricated bearings. Frequently Asked Questions How can wear of the liners be identified / indicated in a vertical shaft impact crusher? Wear can be easily identified by visibly inspecting the equipment. Trio TV series vertical shaft impact crushers have been designed with several features to ensure stopping, opening, inspecting and restarting the equipment can be completed quickly and easily. Additionally, if the quality of the end product does not meet the requirements anymore, worn liners can be the reason. How do you know when it’s time to change wear parts? Firstly, a visual inspection of the rotor and the impact area must be done. If the rotor shows massive signs of wear (e.g. curved shape of rotor tips), then these items must be changed. How do I create less fines with my VSI? If you feel that your vertical shaft impact crusher is creating too many fines, the easiest method of reducing undersized output is by slowing the speed of the rotor. What are the benefits of oil lubricated bearings over grease bearings? Oil lubricated bearings have many advantages including: • Constant bearing temperature • Clean lubrication • The speed of the rotor can be higher than that of grease bearings • Effective removal of heat because oil going into a tank gets filtered and cooled before going back into the crusher Why is the consumed power lower than the installed power? The installed power indicates the maximum specification. This is only consumed when the vertical impact crusher is operating at full load. The consumed power reflects the amount of rocks that actually need to get crushed to pass the settings. With an always existing amount of fines the consumed power is regularly below the installed power. What effect does recirculation bring to the quality of the final product? Recirculation improves the shape and the accuracy of the final product but also increases the production of fines. Produces Premium-Shaped Particles Compared to other crushers, the Trio® vertical impact crusher produces premium quality and well-shaped cubical particles (i.e. asphalt and concrete). Enhanced Lubrication The Trio® vertical shaft impact crusher contains a both Lubrication Power Unit which provide a constant flow of clean, filtered lubrication to the crusher to maintain bushing temperatures and extend wear life of bearings. It also contains an oil lubrication skid with built-in heating and cooling systems, flow meter and temperature sensors with interlock safety shut downs. This provides excellent performance, protects the bearing assembly and facilitates a rotor speed that is higher than that offered by grease lubricated bearings. Reduced Dust Emissions The air transfer system reduces the dust expelled from the crusher which means greater control of dust emissions.
