As rocks meet the outer layer of the manganese steel its exterior layer hardens. This results in a material that is harder to wear down during operation. It is a common misconception that higher percentages of manganese within an alloy recipe will automatically result in a more robust wear part. This is not always the case. Increasing the percentage of manganese, without adjusting the recipe's other elements (typically chrome and carbon) can actually weaken and/or produce less reliable parts. Our Trio® experts have carefully optimised the Mn/C ratio in each alloy recipe, adjusted the wider formula, and tested the results to ensure that our Trio® crusher wear parts deliver increased reliability and wear life. When evaluating liner replacements for your Trio® cone crusher, we recommend that you change the mantle and bowl at the same time. Doing so will help to ensure that the parts match when commissioning and that they wear at the same rate, reducing the risk of part failure or servicing stoppages. Trio® liner sets are supplied in either standard or short-head variations to suit various feed sizes and closed side settings (CSS).
