About this product
Heavy-duty, high-head vertical cantilever pumps with unique long shaft design. Overview The Warman® 5000 series of vertical centrifugal sump pumps (Service Class 1-3) are recognised worldwide for their reliability in severe-duty applications - especially those involving chemicals, flue gas desulfurisation (FGD), phosphate or hard rock. Formerly branded Galigher, these cantilever pumps have been commercialised under the Warman brand since 2012. Our wide selection of construction materials - from natural rubbers to titanium - ensures flexibility and reliability in abrasive and corrosive applications, making these models ideal vertical chemical pumps. Warman® 5000 pumps are easily identified by their unique long shaft design, known in the industry as the Galigher-style pump. They also have four signature column supports for the casing making them very robust and more resistant to fatigue compared to other similarly sized pumps. Compared to other vertical sump pumps, Warman® 5000 cantilever pumps offer the following benefits: • A robust, heavy-duty, double-volute construction that offers long service life and easy maintenance • A wide range of severe-duty material options • Can be rubber-lined or all-metal depending on the application • Zero ancillary water costs • Reduced risk of blockages For more information about our range of Warman® vertical pumps, please get in touch with our team. Frequently Asked Questions What are the shaft lengths for Warman® 5000 series cantilever pumps? The shaft lengths for Warman® 5000 cantilever pumps increase in 300mm increments, starting with 600mm (24"), then 900mm (36"), 1200mm (48"), 1500mm (60") and up to 1800mm (72"). What are the maximum flow rates for Warman® 5000 cantilever pumps? The maximum flow rate for these vertical chemical pumps is 8,000 gpm (1,817 m3/hr). What is the maximum particle size we can push through a Warman® 5000 cantilever pump? The maximum particle passing size for Warman 5000 pumps is 57mm (2.25"). What are the material options for Warman® 5000 series pumps? These pumps have the widest range of severe-duty material options. To match your processing requirements, we offer a variety of elastomers from natural rubbers to neoprene, urethane, butyl, EPDM and others. The choice of metals includes stainless steel and super duplex stainless steel, white and grey cast irons, Ultrachrome® A05 chrome iron, and we even offer Warman® 5000 series pumps in titanium. Features and benefits Dual Volute Casing The double volute casing of our Warman® 5000 vertical sump pumps protects the shaft from deflection and improves the reliability of the pump and the bearing. The high pressure created by the slurry movement through the cantilever pump pushes against the impeller and could cause a long shaft to bend and even break. The unique dual volute casing balances radial forces on the impeller while minimising shaft and bearings loads. Additionally, abrasive/corrosive fluids are pumped out through a single discharge pipe. Superior Versatility Warman® 5000 cantilever pumps are renowned for their versatility containing: • Optional suction extensions that are a cost effective alternative to lengthen the pump beyond the standard cantilever length • A universal motor bracket that accommodates a wide range of motor sizes • A variety of motor mounting orientation options including shaft-up, shaft-down, and direct-connected. These are available in most sizes. These vertical chemical pumps also contain a small footprint and can be made in all-metal or lined with a wide range of abrasion-resistant or acid-resistant elastomers to suit the application. Reduced Risk of Blockages Warman® 5000 cantilever pumps contain screened inlets and large impeller passages to reduce the risk of blockages in the pump. The agitator option also keeps solids in suspension to eliminate settling in the sump. Extended Wear Life Warman® 5000 pumps offer extended wear life with a double-suction, thrustless impeller design that prevents air-locking and balances axial loads on the shaft and bearings. This feature also improves pumping efficiency. The pump casing is also supported by the signature four columns, making the Warman® 5000 series pump significantly more resistant to fatigue. Zero Ancillary Water Costs The cantilever shaft design eliminates the need for submerged bearings, mechanical seals or packing and therefore avoids the need for expensive gland flush. Why Weir?
