About this product

Warman® DWU dirty water pumps are high head dewatering pumps specifically designed to handle dirty water from onsite water sources such as ponds and underground and open pits. Overview Manufactured in South Africa, Warman® DWU high head dirty water pumps fill the gap between two well-serviced market segments: the slurry pump – built for high levels of solids suspended in liquid – and clear water pumps. They provide the wear resistance, robustness and longevity of the slurry pump with the efficiency features of clear water pumps. Warman® DWU dirty water pumps are specifically designed to handle dirty water from onsite water sources such as mining ponds and open pits, with specific gravity (SG) of up to 1.05 and can be used for high head and multistage dewatering pumping systems (Service Class 1). Warman® DWU pumps offer the following benefits: • Designed using proven Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and our advanced materials technology • Comprise of an innovative and compact double-volute design • Contain external cooling fans to dissipate heat and keep the bearings cool • Process fluid efficiently and minimise the need for pump maintenance, especially when compared to other pumps in the same application • Can install all pumps in one location, minimising the time and cost involved in both installation and maintenance • Customers can make use of component interchangeability reducing the stockholding of spares • Contain rigid bearing frames to minimise vibrations and distortions and have large capacity bearings to withstand high loads ensuring improved bearing life • Provides greater flexibility and choice These pumps are available with an electric or diesel motor and can be mounted on either a pontoon, skid, or trailer providing added flexibility to move the pump around depending on where it is needed most. "Dirty water" is the name given to water with too high a percentage of suspended solids to be "clean", but too low of a percentage to be classed as slurry. Dirty water becomes a problem onsite when the solids concentrate inside a dewatering pump collects around the motor frame, overheating the pump and causing premature mechanical failure. How is the Warman® DWU dirty water pump mounted? The Warman® DWU dirty water pump can be mounted on a pontoon, skid, or trailer for maximum flexibility. Features and benefits Provides Superior Performance in Dirty Water Applications Dirty water can be a significant problem onsite because the solids concentration within the water can cause standard "clean water" dewatering pumps to overheat and fail. Warman® DWU heavy-duty dirty water pumps are specifically designed for these types of applications and provide a simple solution for a range of fluid transfer problems. Suitable for High Head and Multi-stage Applications Underground dewatering presents a number of challenges not present on the surface, including the need to lift liquids to significant heights, deal with increased solids content and contend with strict space limitations. Warman® DWU dirty water pumps are engineered to deliver optimal results in high head and multistage dewatering applications. They are able to handle dirty water of SG 1.05 and have a casing pressure rated at 7000kPa (1000psi) for serious pumping, if required. The main benefit of the Warman® DWU pump in these applications is the ability to install all pumps in one location, minimising the time and cost involved in both installation and maintenance. The range also includes 4 different pump sizes; Warman® DWU 200, 150, 125 and 75. When at their maximum operating speed, these dewatering pumps can achieve a head of 130m at the best efficiency point. Innovative and Compact Design By harnessing the new Warman® WBH® pump’s mechanical end design, customers have about 90% component interchangeability between the WBH® pump and the Warman® DWU pump, enabling them to reduce their spare parts stockholding when operating both types of pumps. The pump's compact double volute casing design and thrust reduction impeller technology also help to reduce radial and axial thrust loads, thus enhancing bearing life. The frame comes in one-piece aiding the correct alignment of the bearings, seals and impeller. Self Priming Systems Warman® DWU dewatering pumps can be configured as a self priming pump which allows the operator to prime the pump from dry without any additional water. Provides Superior Flexibility and Options Warman® DWU dirty water pumps provide a flexible dewatering solution to sites, not only in the portability around site, but in the range of fluids the pump is built to handle. Although designed to handle dirty water, these pumps can also process clean water with 78% efficiency, and the addition of a C23 stainless-steel casing means the Warman® DWU pump is now suitable for highly acidic applications (pH >2). Customers can also choose between a diesel or electric motor and different seal arrangements depending on the application. Electric Warman® DWU pumps can be mounted to a pontoon to allow for series pumping at base level or stage pumping out of an open pit. And, diesel-driven pumps can be installed with a vacuum assisted priming system that reprimes the pump when needed. External Cooling Vanes Dissipate the Heat of Bearing Frame These dewatering pumps contain external cooling vanes to dissipate heat, helping to keep the bearings cool. Improved Safety on Site Warman® DWU dirty water pumps contain lifting lugs on all major components to provide ease of handling, which provides greater safety for workers when on site and installing equipment. Longer Wear Life Warman® DWU pumps contain rigid bearing frames that help to minimise vibrations and distortions from external piping loads. They also have large capacity bearings that are capable of withstanding high loads ensuring improved bearing life. In addition to the bearings, the pump's high chrome iron impeller and side liners help to improve overall wear life. Why Weir? Applications Warman® DWU dirty water pumps are specifically designed for dirty water management, acidic fluid management (pH range >2) and multistage / long-distance fluid transport. They pump fluid efficiently and minimise the need for pump maintenance. These pumps are typically used to pump dirty and muddy water from onsite water sources such as ponds and open pits with specific gravity (SG) of up to 1.05. They can also be used within extraction (open pit and underground mining) and tailings applications to pump wastewater and water with light to medium solids. Suitable to be used with the following feed materials: • Wastewater • Water with light solids • Water with medium solids Product specifications Replacement parts Our team of R&D engineers have utilised a double volute casing design and impeller balance holes to reduce the radial and axial hydraulic loads. By making use of the updated Warman® WBH® mechanical end design, customers can make use of component interchangeability, thus reducing stockholding of spares. Warman® WBH® mechanical ends are available in either grease or oil lubricated options.
