Overview Rated to the highest of pressures, our large Warman® HTP high-pressure centrifugal pumps are designed specifically for severe multi-stage and long-distance pumping applications. Frequently Asked Questions What are the pressure ratings of different Warman® HTP pump models? Our range of Warman® high-pressure centrifugal pumps come with a variety of pressure ratings to suit diverse customer needs and applications. Our standard Warman® HT and HTP pump models operate within the 290 to 580 psi (2,000 - 4,000 kPa) pressure range, whereas we recommend our highest-pressure pump (Warman® HTPP) for pressures exceeding 580 psi (i.e. up to 1,058 psi / 7,300 kPa). What is the maximum passing solids size? The maximum solids passing size varies depending on the impeller installed in the Warman® HTP high-pressure pump. The average size is 200 mm. What is the maximum flow rate? The maximum flow will depend on the model and the size of the pump. As a general guide, our Warman® HTP multistage centrifugal pumps can handle flows from 1700 m3/hr (e.g. HTP500 or HTPP500 Standard) to over 13000 m3/hr (e.g. HTP650 Standard). The final selection will always need to take into account the nature of the slurry and the required operating conditions to ensure an acceptable service life. Are Warman® HTP high-pressure pumps lined or unlined? We recommend using lined (double-cased) pumps for high-pressure applications because unlined pump casings tend to wear thinner, reducing the pressure-retaining capability of the pump and premature retirement. The Warman® HTP centrifugal pump design allows full utilisation of the liner thickness in order to extend pump wear life, while maintaining the high pressure rating. Most importantly, our pumps are lined to improve safety. Their double casing helps to prevent the risk of catastrophic failure due to worn-out unlined pumps (e.g. unexpected casing fractures) and the release of fragments that could endanger worker safety. What materials are available for Warman® HTP pump liners? Both metal and rubber liners are available for Warman® HTP high-pressure pumps, with material selection depending on the part and application. For oil sands tailings applications, neoprene throatbushes are usually standard. Whereas, we typically offer throatbushes in our proprietary Hyperchrome® chromium white irons for hydrotransport applications. Impellers and frame plate liner inserts (FPLIs) are available in both Ultrachrome® and Hyperchrome® chromium white irons, while volute liners are typically offered in Ultrachrome®. What are the bearing frame arrangements and power ratings for Warman® HTP pumps? Currently, we supply Warman® HTP high-pressure pumps using one of the two bearing assemblies (a U or a UW series), which can be lubricated with oil or grease. Is an adjustable throatbush available? Yes, we offer an adjustable throatbush as a standard feature for HT/HTP650 pumps; it is also an option for HTP600. With a standard throatbush, you would have to shut the pump down and isolate it in order to make adjustments. However, with an adjustable throatbush, you are able to carry out adjustments while the pump is in operation. This maximises availability and extends the wear life of the throatbush. What are the safety benefits of using a Warman® HTP pump? All Warman® high-pressure pumps are lined to prevent serious safety incidents such as unexpected casing fractures or catastrophic pump failure. The HTP case design has also allowed us to reduce the weight of volute components, making them lighter and easier to handle compared to similarly-sized competitor pump parts. To keep workers safe, we produce specialised lifting tools to help with the handling of slurry pump parts during maintenance and/or rebuild.
