About this product

An improved design of our iconic Warman® AH® series pump, the Warman® WBH® heavy-duty process pump comes standard with our patented WRT® impeller and throatbush technology and is designed for the continuous pumping of highly abrasive and dense slurries within the mill circuit. Overview The next generation of our Warman® AH® heavy-duty slurry pumps, Warman® WBH® heavy-duty slurry pumps optimise all aspects of wear and performance while delivering a lower total cost of ownership (TCO). These horizontal centrifugal process pumps are typically used in heavy-duty applications such as mill discharge, slurry transfer and process pumping and are suitable for both greenfield and brownfield installations (Service Class 1-4). With your general slurry process pumping requirements front of mind, the Warman® WBH® slurry pump range offers numerous design enhancements based on the latest slurry pumping technology to help ensure productivity demands are met. Warman® WBH® slurry pumps are available with optional pressure relief and thermal cut-out features and an optional ‘single-point adjustment’ device to rotate and axially adjust the throatbush. The fully adjustable throatbush moves axially, as well as rotates (with single-point adjustment option), to distribute the wear evenly and extend the impeller and throatbush life. The standard Warman® WBH® arrangement allows axial adjustment of the throatbush. This adjustment can be made while the pump is running, eliminating the need to stop production resulting in cost savings for the plant. WARMAN® WBH® Heavy-duty Process Pumps: benefits Compared to other abrasive slurry pumps, Warman® WBH® slurry pumps offer the following benefits: • Improved efficiency, safety and performance • Longer service life resulting in reduced downtime and greater operational savings • Available with a variety of sizes and with different lining options to suit specific applications • Include our patented Wear Reduction Technology (WRT®) upgrade that further enhances the pump's performance by improving its efficiency and reducing power consumption • A streamlined impeller inlet and patented volute flow paths that facilitate enhanced handling of even the most difficult slurries • Contains a revolutionary patented one-piece frame ensuring correct alignment of the bearings, seal and impeller to the throatbush • Easier access to the pump for impeller adjustments • Simple maintenance and improved safety Together with our Warman® mill circuit pumps and Warman® AH® pumps, the Warman® WBH® pump provides a complete selection for most duties in the mill circuit - from cyclone feed to regrind, flotation and tailings. Frequently Asked Questions Can I retrofit a Warman® WBH® centrifugal process pump to replace an old-model pump? Yes. In most cases, the retrofit will require a simple spacer frame to be installed between the existing pump drive frame and the Warman® WBH® pump to effectively mount the pump. It may also require minor changes to the inlet and discharge piping components, though each conversion will need to be assessed separately to ensure correct fitment. Is there a WRT® impeller and throatbush upgrade available for a Warman® WBH® process pump? You do not need to perform any upgrades to access the benefits of the Wear Reduction Technology (WRT®) upgrade as you would in older-model pumps. The WRT® impellers and throatbushes are standard in all Warman® WBH® slurry pumps. Can I adjust the throatbush on the pump whilst it is running? Absolutely! The Warman® WBH® pump is designed to enable the adjustment of metal throatbushes to minimise the gap between the impeller and throatbush whilst it is running. The standard arrangement is axial-adjustment-only version where the throatbush is moved using pusher bolts with puller studs to lock it in place when completed. This system has proven very successful in our large range of Warman® mill circuit (MC) slurry pumps. An optional arrangement is adjusting via a single rotating nut on the inlet side of the pump that is connected to a mechanism that not only pushes the throatbush in or out but rotates it at the same time. This minimises the gap whilst presenting fresh material to any higher-wear locations within the pump. What is the standard bearing sealing arrangement on the Warman® WBH® process pump? The updated Warman® WBH® pump has been developed to be supplied standard with IP66 mechanical bearing isolators fitted to the shaft on both the drive and pump ends. Can I fit a mechanical shaft seal in a Warman® WBH® process pump? Yes. The Warman® WBH® pump has excellent seal alignment with the one-piece bearing and pump mounting frame assembly. With the use of a standard mechanical seal adaptor, rear liner and a shaft sleeve, designed for standard metric mechanical seal sizes, a cartridge-style mechanical seal can easily be fitted. Why are there two lifting points on the cover plate on the pump? The two lifting points are for different assembly / disassembly methods that are possible depending on what is required during maintenance. The higher lifting point allows the cover plate, throatbush and volute liner assembly to be removed in a single piece giving immediate access to the impeller. The lower lifting point removes the cover plate and throatbush as a single piece allowing immediate access to the throatbush - if that is all that needs maintenance. Can I convert my existing Warman® WBH® slurry pump bearing assembly from grease to oil lubrication? Yes. The simple conversion requires fitting a fill point / breather on the top, plugging the grease points, fitting a sight glass on the side and removal of grease retainers. Oil-filled versions are also available for the -11 shaft sealing arrangement if that is required. Can I change the liners and impeller in the Warman® WBH® pump between metal, rubber and polyurethane as I need to? Yes, the Warman® WBH® process pump is very adaptable in that the inner liners and impellers are replaceable. It can accept a wide range of combinations of liner and impeller materials to allow for targeted wear performance to suit the many and differing applications across a process plant. Is there a pressure relief safety device available for the Warman® WBH® range of heavy-duty slurry pumps? Yes. The Warman® WBH® pump has the option of installing an internal pressure relief device to avoid overpressure situations in metal-lined pumps where overpressure failure is a safety risk. It is a two-stage arrangement with a temperature sensor as the first-stage warning and a fail-to-safe shear ring if the pump exceeds a certain pressure. Designed primarily for the alumina industry, it is suitable for any installation where complicated piping/valving networks, high temperatures and/or caustic or acid slurries are being pumped. My site is converting all of our existing process pumps to the “-17” full diameter flinger-style bearing seals. Can I have that in my Warman® WBH® pump? Yes. The full diameter flinger sealing arrangement in the Warman® WBH® pump is designated as “-11” and is very similar to the -17 version in the older-style bearing assemblies. Features and benefits Outstanding Slurry Management With the patented Wear Reduction Technology (WRT™) impeller and throatbush upgrade integrated into our range of Warman® WBH® heavy-duty process pumps, there is enhanced handling of even the most difficult slurries. The low-flow gland seal, expeller seal and mechanical seal options on the Warman® WBH® pump mean there is less dilution of the slurry and lower required flow of gland water. Interchangeable Liners Warman® WBH® pumps are available with interchangeable metal and elastomer wear components that fit within the one pump casing. Our encapsulated rubber liners offer longer life and prevent liner extrusion or blow-out. Improved Performance Warman® WBH® slurry pumps are designed to provide superior performance, efficiency and wear life with: • Streamlined impeller and patented volute flow paths • Long-life bearings that offer increased thrust load capacity whilst maintaining excellent radial load capacity • Large unitised and rigid bearing frame minimise vibrations and distortions from external piping loads. Efficient, Sustainable and Cost-effective The Warman® WBH® pump was designed using state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics methods to ensure both efficiency and wear life are maximised. Its large-diameter Warman® Hi Seal™ expeller also reduces water consumption in high-suction pressure applications. Long Wear and Service Life Warman® WBH® pumps provide superior wear and service life. These heavvy-duty process pumps leverage our latest Wear Reduction Technology (WRT™) impeller and throatbush combination and feature: • Robust labyrinth-style end cover seals to reliably protect the bearings • A fully adjustable throatbush that moves axially and can rotate (with a single-point adjustment option) to distribute wear evenly and extend impeller and throatbush life • Frame options to suit both grease and oil lubrication Warman® WBH® pumps are also fully compatible with the Accumin® automatic grease lubrication system. Improved Safety Warman® WBH® pumps are designed with personnel safety in mind and work hard to minimise the risk of potential catastrophic failure. Their lined casing design allows full utilisation of the liner thickness to extend pump wear life, while maintaining the pressure rating. It also helps to avoid the risk of catastrophic failure that can happen with unlined slurry pumps when the pump casing fractures unexpectedly. These centrifugal process pumps also feature a safer three-point lift for the bare shaft pump, lifting lugs on all major components, lifting tools to fit both new and worn wearing components, and an impeller release collar for safer low-torque impeller removal. Comprehensive assembly and disassembly procedures, leak detection and optional pump health monitoring, pressure relief and thermal cut-out features are also available to improve safety on site. Improved Sustainability As sustainability becomes increasingly important to mines around the world, it’s important that OEMs continue to harness technological innovations to find efficiencies that reduce energy and CO2 emissions wherever they can. An independent study from a mine in South Africa examined the power consumption of the Warman® WRT™ impeller and demonstrated that it consumed 3.85% less power than a standard impeller. While this may not sound substantial, on a slurry pump that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this can attribute to a significant reduction in carbon emissions.
