Cut-resistant personal protection is crucial for anyone handling sharp tools, materials and products, or potentially dangerous machinery. In a variety of industries, cut-resistant safety gloves are an essential part of a worker’s uniform, along with other cut-resistant garments and sleeves. Bekaert offers a wide range of stainless steel monofilaments (Bekinox®) for the production of cut-resistant gloves, garments and sleeves in the personal protection market. Typical industries include automotive, agriculture, food processing, metal fabrication, mining and glass handling. They are critical components of high-performance cut-resistance engineered yarns as they are very thin and extremely strong for unbeatable cut-resistance. Moreover, with diameters as thin as 35 µm, cut-resistant engineered yarns using these materials are extremely flexible. This ensures easy design of the garment and comfort during wear. Bekinox® stainless steel monofilaments are available in many different diameters: standard are 35, 43.5, 50 and 63 µm.
