About this product

OPEN SPIRAL STRAND STAINLESS STEEL Open Spiral Strand (OSX) Stainless Steel Strand Open Spiral Strand (OSX) is manufactured using helically wound, high-strength steel round wires, which are generally spun in opposing directions around a central core. Each stainless steel (grade 1.4401) is tested and verified for tensile strength, ductility, elongation at fracture, bending, and torsional properties in accordance with EN 10264 and EN 12385-10. OSX ropes do not require an internal corrosion inhibitor compound and are usually produced dry or with a light manufacturing oil. The main OSX properties are high axial stiffness (EA) values, high strength-to-weight ratio, good long-term fatigue resistance, and torque balance. OSX is designed following the most stringent international standards, including EN 1993-1-8, EN 1993-1-9, and EN 1993-1-11, ensuring they meet the structural and safety requirements of modern engineering applications. Stainless steel cables can be supplied with a polished finish. Features: Material: High-strength stainless steel wire. See ETA 18/1122 for details Socketing: polyester resin (e.g. Wirelock) or metal (Zinc/Zamak) socketing according to ETA 18/1122. Swaging according to ETA 18/1122 Applications: Bridges, Stadia, Facades and Cable Nets
